Be My Valentine

The second project we are making for our upcoming craft night is a “Be my Valentine” sign.

Here is all you need to make your very own.

I picked up a 1x6 at Home Depot and had it cut down into 10” pieces.
Painted it Americana Santa Red and sanded the edges a bit.

Added some vinyl that I ordered from Utah VinylThen added a fabric flower.

Pretty simple and cute to boot.  You could also add some ribbon to the back or a picture hanger to hang it on a wall, hook, or door.

Here is a link to the framed heart specimen art we will be making too.

Framed Heart Specimen Art

I am hosting a craft night at the end of the month and wanted to make a couple Valentine’s Day projects. I thought a heart specimen art project would be fun and simple.

I used a heart punch, which I recently purchased at Michael’s 50% off, to cut out the hearts. The saying was done in Word and printed off onto some white cardstock. I attached the hearts with some double sided tape and put it in a simple black 5x7 frame. To jazz up the frame a little bit, I added two fabric flowers in the corner with a little hot glue.

I love how it turned out! A simple framed project that can easily be changed up for various holidays.

The Room is Done

Well before Christmas, I was busy working away on decorating my youngest son's room. So now that the holidays are over, I better hurry up and finish what I started. Here is a picture from the doorway.

I found the crib bedding at Burlington years ago. We've used it for all three boys and it's held up great.

My hubby was the one that picked out the sports theme. But I liked the colors and the red accents. I really liked the mobile.

I still really love how the bookshelf turned out. The beadboard and trim really makes it look like a whole new shelf.

Here is a view of the other side of the room. I love the changing table. We bought it at Babies"R"US and the lined baskets I found at Michael's. We put the baby toys on the bottom shelf. The other basket is used to store lotion, powder, etc.

I have a couple more small projects I want to finish up and then I'll be completely done and ready to move onto the next room.
