How to Beef Up a Picture Frame

I have this simple white 8x10 picture frame that holds a picture of my son on his blessing day.

But I wanted something a little "thicker" looking.  So I picked up a thrift store 11x14 frame for $2.00.

I gave it a coat of white spray paint.

And then hung it up around the other frame.

The double frame adds some more "thickness" and takes up more wall space too.  Love how it turned out.

The little dresser I picked up from an estate sale for $25 years ago.  Works great for little clothes.  All my boys have used it.

So would you just find/buy a thicker frame or try the double frame method?
