Bye Bye Green, Hello Spring

Now that St. Patrick's Day is over, I figured it was time to break out the spring/Easter decor.  During baby's morning nap time, I managed to get down the St. Patrick's Day decor and pull out some of my spring stuff.  I didn't change up my mantel that much from last year - but here it is.

Last year I put together and painted these pedestal birdhouses.

I also created this weathered spring sign.

I love the spring colors, and I especially love the pop of yellow that the forsythia branch adds.  The birds I picked up at Michael's one year.

I added some fake daffodils to my lanterns

With weather in the 70's this weekend, it will definitely feel like spring.  And now that my mantel is ready - bring on the spring.

This little guy slept so I could get this project done - what a good baby.

St. Patty's Day Oreos

We are getting down to the wire for St. Patrick's Day. I thought it would be fun to make a little treat to celebrate the special day. I used these ingredients.

Dipped the Oreos only half way in some melted bark, added a few sprinkles and ended up with a perfectly scrumptious treat. Chocolate and mint together - absolute heaven!!

*This is a repost from last year, but the perfect St. Patrick's Day goodie to share with friends and family.

He Arrived!!

Well I've been laying low the last couple weeks.  I worked the week of February 27 to March 2 and then Saturday, March 3 early afternoon our baby boy arrived.  It was a busy week working and finishing up things getting ready for baby to arrive, but it worked out perfectly.

He came without too many complications.  Of course my boys just adore him - a little too much a times.  But we're happy Logan arrived.  He was 8.1 lbs and 21 inches long.  Here he is ready to go home.

So needless to say, we're adjusting to his schedule.  For the most part, he has been a good baby - eating, sleeping and filling his pants like he should.

So we're all doing well and recovering just fine.  We feel so blessed to have this little guy in our home.

Going Green

Well no baby news yet. . . but while I'm waiting, I've been working this week.  So not much time for anything else.  My mom flew into town on Tuesday though - so now baby is welcome to come whenever he feels ready.

A couple weekends ago, after my boys helped me take down all the Valentine decorations, we proceeded to deck the house out in green for St. Patrick's Day.  As we were getting the decorations out, my oldest said, "Now the baby can come?"  Since I was trying to help him grasp when the baby might be coming I told him around St. Patrick's Day, when we put up all the shamrocks.  So he was excited to help us go green knowing his baby brother would be coming soon too.

So here's what we put together.

I made the specimen art last year.  The black and white polka dot plate was the same from my Valentine mantel, but just changed up with a shamrock.  The Luck blocks I believe I bought from Terry's Village years ago.

Last year I made these Luck blocks and the St. Patrick's Day stackers.  Scatter a few gold coins here and there and we're ready for St. Patrick's Day.
