A Little Hike - to the Cave
While my family was in town, one of our activities was to hike to the Timpanogos Caves. Let me tell you - this is no easy hike too.
You can get a better idea from this photo the starting and ending place. So we're talking hiking up a big ole mountain.
We just took lots of breaks along the way and the cousins cheered each other on. But as you can see the trail is nicely paved - it's just steeeeep.
There were also little signs along the way to keep us motivated.
We hiked at a slow and steady pace, until we made it to the top.
The entrance to the cave looked pretty amazing.
There are actually three caves but have all been connected - all discovered separately too. It was very interesting and so cool to see the formations in the caves.
Luckily we decided to leave behind our 2-year old. The trail would have been far too difficult for him and there was no way I could have carried him. Also, with no guard rail - we might have lost him over the edge. But this guy was a trooper and made it up and back like it was a walk in the park.
In the end it was well worth the climb - although coming down might have been even worse. My legs were just spaghetti when we got to the bottom. What a beautiful sight though - if you live in Utah and haven't been to the caves you should definitely consider this fun adventure.
I have wanted to do this for years, but as my weight only increases instead of decreasing I'll have to wait to go. I'm glad you had a great time. The pics are great. Thanks for sharing with us.
