Monster Eyes and a Winner

I found a cute idea to make some Monster Eyes here. So I gathered my supplies.

I just printed "Monster Eyes" on my computer.

I cut my scrapbook paper to make some toppers for the bags.

Set out the Reeses miniture cups in groups of 4.

Added a dot of hot glue to the top and attached the wiggly eyes.

Put them in a small bag.

Stapled on the topper and was done.

Then I made a bunch.  I think they turned out so cute.  I can't wait to pass them out.

These would be fun to pass out to classmates, neighbors, friends or co-workers.

And the winner of the Mymemories digital scrapbook software is . . .

MyMemories - Giveaway

So are you a scrapper? I never scrapbooked a page in my life, until my first son was born. I figured I could put together a baby book for him. Well since then, I've done a little scrapping here and there, but I haven't been good about keeping up with all life's events. I am so behind on son #2. Poor kid has only 2 pages in his book.

I've heard friends and co-workers talk about digital scrapbooking, but I never really tried it out - until yesterday.

Mymemories contacted me and is offering to give one of you lucky readers your very own digital scrapbooking software for FREE.  Sweet deal, I know.  Look at the page I created using the Mymemories suite software.  It was pretty easy to pick and choose backgrounds, embellishments, borders, and add photos and text.

This fall we took a trip to Gardner Village so I thought it would be fun to create a page from our recent trip. I just love how it turned out!! I can save it, print it, or share it with others. You can also add music or videos to your albums too. I can't wait to make some more pages. I might actually get some scrapbooking done now.

So here is your chance to try out MyMemories digital scrapbooking software for free.

Halloween Oreos

Last weekend I was craving a chocolate dipped Oreo.  So I decided to make some for my co-workers - that way so I could have one too.  I dipped the Oreos in some white chocolate and then added a few orange sprinkles.  I threw some candy corn on the plate too just for some color.

They were gone in less than 20 minutes and I only had ONE to satisfy my craving.

I seem to do this quite a bit.  If I'm in the mood for something, I'll make it, get my piece and then take the rest into work to get rid of it.  Drives my hubby bonkers - he thinks he should eat the rest - but he doesn't need the calories either.  Do any of you do the same - or share with neighbors?

I think it's more fun to share the goodies around, don't you?

Welcome to the Pumpkin Patch

At the beginning of the summer I made this outdoor post - you can read more about it here.

Well my Dollar Tree USA sign was getting quite weathered and I needed to change it up for fall.  I never made it to store to get supplies to make another sign, but I came across this one in my stash.

We got it for a wedding gift, but I figured it could use a little updating.  So I taped off the section I wanted to change up.

I also came across this clearance vinyl on my last trip to the Wood Connection and picked it up for $2.00.

I painted the sign with some Burnt Orange craft paint and added the vinyl.

The wire on the top was a bit too long, so I cut down the wire to make a shorter hook and added some orange and tan raffia.

Then it was ready to hang outside on my post.

I love how it turned out and that it was only $2.00 (the cost of the vinyl), everything else I had on hand.  Just perfect for fall time.

Jack-o-Lantern Specimen Art

I wanted to make some jack-o-lantern specimen art with the most adorable stickers I picked up at Michael's.

I started out with these supplies.

Punched out a 12 squares of both the yellow and orange.

Added the orange squares to my piece of black card stock.

Then layered the yellow squares on top.

Added my stickers.

Then framed it.

This project was easy and quick.  I love how it turned out.

Block Pumpkin

I stopped by the Wood Connection last week and picked up a couple block pumpkins to add to my Halloween care packages I want to send out.  They were only $2.50 and came with a sanded block and stem.  I painted them Burnt Orange and then used my brown ink pad to distress the edges.  I attached the stems with some liquid nails.  Added a little raffia and ribbon and they were done.

I love how they turned out. I hope the recipients will like them as much as I do. Now I need to finish getting my packages ready this weekend so I can mail them out.

I love getting care packages - how about you?

Halloween Mantel

Well over the weekend I got my mantel decorated for the month of October.  I really like how it turned out.  I made my Halloween blocks a couple years ago, but decided to keep with the same color scheme.

I used my lanterns I found at Lowe's and decided to fill a hurricane vase with pumpkins and pine cones.  The framed crow you can find over at Blooming Homestead.  She always has great printables.

I filled a glass jar with some candy corn and added some Dollar Tree skeletons.  The black cat I picked up at a craft store many, many years ago.

I added a Dollar Tree black crow on top of each of the lanterns.

I thought it turned out pretty cute.  So that's my Halloween mantel for the year.

Happy Halloween!!

Trick Or Treat Banner

Last weekend I pulled out the Halloween decor.  My oldest even asked me to wake him up early Saturday morning so he could help.  We got most of it done and added a few scary touches here and there.

I worked on the mantel myself - since it's a little too high anyway.  But one thing I wanted to add to the mantel was a banner.  After deciding to use TRICK OR TREAT, I got to work.

I didn't have any letters on hand, so I just printed some out on regular paper on my computer and used some card stock.

I cut out the letters and attached them to the card stock with double sided tape.  Punched two holes in the top and then ran some twine through the holes.  I also added some ribbon between each letter.

On either side of the "OR" I added a cupcake pick skeleton.  I found them at Michael's on my last trip there and thought they were too cute to pass up.

I loved the little hinges for the arms and legs.  I just love how it turned out.  I decided to use the bright traditional Halloween colors this year.

Super simple and just used what I had on hand, besides the skeletons.  Tomorrow I'll show you the rest of my mantel.
