Liberty Block

This was a quick project I made last week.  I had some leftover 2x4's from a previous project so I cut one down to 6 inches and painted it dark blue. 

I ordered some vinyl from Utah Vinyl including the negative - I wanted to use it as a stencil.  So I attached the vinyl to my painted block.

Then painted it with a couple coats of Sand colored craft paint.

Then I removed the vinyl and ended up with a cute block.

I could have left it like that, but I decided I wanted more of a weathered look.  So I gave it a good sanding.

Now I have a cute little block to add to my Americana decor. 

I'm hosting a craft night this Thursday and this is one of the projects we will be making.
