Bubble Frame

I saw the most darling frame at Kohl's one day while I was shopping, but it was a Christmas frame that said "tis the Season" made using the clear glass rocks.  I thought that would be the perfect birthday gift for my sister in law, if I changed it up a bit.

So I picked up an unfinished 5x7 frame at Michael's, with a coupon of course, they are regularly $4.99.

Then I painted the edges black.

I knew I wanted to add some texture, so I added scrapbook paper with Mod Podge.

I sanded the edges to remove the excess paper and to distress it a bit.

Then for the wording, I printed off the word "family" on my printer and then placed a clear rock on each letter with a little Mod Podge.

Once it's dry, cut around each letter then attach to your frame with a little more Mod Podge.

At this point it looked pretty cute, but I wanted to add a little something more. I found this punch at Michael's on clearance and wanted to try it out.

So I cut some polka dot paper and added it to the top and bottom of the frame as well. I just used some glue to attach it.

I plan on making several more of these for birthday gifts next year.  You could easily change up the saying and colors.  These would make fun Christmas gifts too.
