Thrift Store Find - Cheese Dome

I was so excited the other day when I came across my first cheese dome at the thrift store. I snatched it up in a hurry.

I wasn't as lucky though to come upon a candlestick that would work for a pedestal. But a few days later I was able to go again and came across these.

They were wood but had some red highlights.  I decided to give the cheese dome and candlesticks a few coats of Rust-oleum Heirloom White spray paint.  Then I used a little wood glue and attached the shortest candlestick to my cheese dome.

Then I distressed it a bit so the black would show through.

I added a little nest I picked up at Michael's and a couple eggs for now.

I am so excited about my first cheese dome made cloche.  You've probably seen them all over blog land.  I love what Nicole did with hers.  Go check it out at Thrifty Decorating.
